Letter from Orlando Humason, Dalles, Oregon, to the Editor of the Oregon Statesman, 3 pp, 11 October 1861, opposing the appointment of A. P. Dennison "of succession notoriety" as enrolling officer of Oregon volunteers for Civil War duty and urging all loyal Union men to form companies. Orlando Humason (1828-1875), was a member of the legislature and was responsible for the bill creating Wasco and Multnomah counties.
